The Final Chapter: back home from Everest Base Camp
Day 18: Tue May 3, 2011 (Kathmandu – Delhi – Pune | Flight)
As our Everest Base Camp adventure drew to a close, the excitement of returning home filled our hearts. On Day 18, we embarked on our journey from Kathmandu back to India, carrying with us a treasure trove of memories and experiences that we would cherish forever.
farewell to Nepal
The day had finally arrived for us to bid farewell to the enchanting land of Nepal. We packed our bags, ensuring we had all our souvenirs and memories safely tucked away. Our flight from Kathmandu to Delhi was scheduled in the morning. We reached the airport with a mix of emotions. The incredible journey filled us with gratitude. And there was anticipation for the warm embrace of our loved ones back home.
The flight from Kathmandu to Delhi was smooth and uneventful, providing us with some much-needed downtime to reflect on our journey. As we disembarked in Delhi, we couldn’t help but feel a tinge of sadness. We knew that our adventure was truly coming to an end. Nevertheless, we eagerly boarded our connecting flight to Pune, looking forward to sharing our stories and experiences with family and friends.

Upon landing in Pune, the familiar sights and sounds of our hometown greeted us. As we collected our luggage and stepped outside the airport, the warm welcome from our loved ones brought smiles to our faces. We knew that, although our Everest Base Camp trek had concluded, the memories we had made would last a lifetime.
In the days that followed, we couldn’t stop talking about our adventure. We shared countless stories, photographs, and laughter, recounting the challenges we overcame, the stunning landscapes we encountered, and the camaraderie we shared with our fellow trekkers. The Everest Base Camp trek undoubtedly left an indelible mark on our lives. We were grateful for every moment we experienced on this unforgettable journey.
